Awaken the journalist in you!
Have you always fancied yourself in a faded kurta and jean, wearing kholapuri chappals and carrying a jhola? Have you always wanted to hold a mike to someone and jot down information furiously as they spoke? Have you watched TV reporters at their jobs and thought you could ask your guests more interesting and fun questions?
Here's your chance to get to do all that and more! And what's even better, you get to practise your French in the bargain too!
Here's the task: it's quite simple! Choose ANY ONE MEMBER of the AFB staff (Director, Course Director, Course Coordinator, Culture Coordinator, Reception Staff, Librarian, Intern, Technician, Administrator, Gardener, Watchman, Helper...) - and conduct an interview with him/her.
-Ask the person details that you think readers of this forum would like to know. (Chances are, if YOU want to know that, everyone else does too;-) Does Monsieur le Directeur play a musical instrument? How many languages does David le bibliothécaire speak? What's Anuradha's favourite wardrobe line? Does Dolly ever lose her temper? and all such other fun things...)
- You can conduct the interview in any language you feel comfortable with. More importantly, in the language your guest feels comfortable with.
- Once done with the information collection (ask your guest for photos, souvenirs, other visual aids that you can use to illustrate your article. You could also interview others at the AFB to ask them about what they think of your guest etc...), write a "profile" presentation of your chosen staff member. IN FRENCH of course!
- Post the article on the forum under this topic and wait for accolades to pour in as people congratulate you for your wonderful journalistic prowess IN FRENCH!!!
(Pssst, you need any help revising what you've written before you post it, I'll step in as your ghost-writer;-)
Remember that these are the people behind the exciting, warm and lively experiences you get to have at AFB. Here's your chance to let them know that their work and presence are valued and appreciated and that, curious as we always are, we'd like to know more about them!
So, all those budding writers lurking out there, come out NOW and "book" your staff member. Before you start your interviews, just reply to this message or send me a PM to let me know who you're doing a profile on, so we make sure there are no repetitions.
